In 1989, Roger Dubuis co-patented his own retrograde mechanism, which became the foundation of the Maison’s first ever timepiece. This year sees the brand pay homage to the co-founder’s favourite biretrograde display in the Excalibur Biretrograde Calendar, featuring a symmetrical complication of ecliptic segments – one counting the hours and the other the date. 18-karat pink gold and mother-of-pearl are combined for a heritage aesthetic, along with nods to Roger Dubuis’ heritage in the form of skeletonised hands and historic font.
