Founder Albert Fouquet was a perfume connoisseur in the early 20th century; in the summer of 1937, he met a young American student who was captivated by the scent he was wearing and persuaded him to part with a sample. It got passed on to John F. Kennedy, nearly got lost in WWII and, decades later, became one of the most exclusive names in the fragrance world.
