The loafer as we know it today dates back to the humble footwear worn by Norwegian fishermen, but it wasn’t until the 1940s when the traditional penny strap was replaced with the tassel for actor Paul Lukas. Musing on that cinematic riff, Brunello Cucinelli presents this suede pair, which further takes cues from boat shoes with the woven leather braids on each side.
